Francesco Ballo

Francesco Ballo (Milan, 1950) has taught for over forty years as a professor of History of Cinema and Video at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera.

He is a writer and scholar of cinema and short stories; he is also an experimental filmmaker (his films have been presented at various international film festivals). His most recent published works include: Jacques Tourneur. La trilogia del fantastico, Falsopiano, Alessandria, 2007 (Premio Internazionale Maurizio Grande VI edizione) and Il cinema di Buster Keaton. Sherlock Jr., Falsopiano, Alessandria, 2013.

Together with Paola Baroncini, he published Numeri e Sequenze, Edizione del Naviglio, Milan, 1988, Traccia comica, Grafica Uno, Giorgio Upiglio, Milan, 1991 and Siam qui per caso e ci facciam del male, la centrale edizioni, 2020.
