Lucilla Catania was born in Rome and attended the Accademia di Belle Arti graduating in sculpture. After a stay in France she took part in 1985 in Nuove trame dell’arte, curated by Achille Bonito Oliva. Her first solo show was at the Artra Gallery in Milan in 1988. In 1990 she was invited to the Venice Biennale in the Aperto section. Among her many exhibitions are: the XII National Art Quadrennial 1950/1990 Ultime Generazioni in Rome, the IX International Biennial of Sculptures in Carrara, and Italian Sculpture of the XX Century in Japan. Her sculptures are found in private and public collections.
