Dotto Gabriele

Gabriele Dotto, born in Milan in 1952, studied music composition and analysis in the US and Italy and taught at the Conservatory of Milan. He then focused on a career in publishing while working as an independent scholar. At G. Ricordi & C of Milan (Italy’s principal music publisher), he served as editor-in-chief and later director of publishing, as well as director of its Historical Archive. Dotto has published and lectured extensively on 19th and 20th century Italian opera, curated opera-themed exhibits in Europe, is co-General Editor of the Operas of Gaetano Donizetti critical edition and General Editor of the complete edition of the Operas of Giacomo Puccini.
