Gianluigi Colin was born in Pordenone in 1956. For many years he has been conducting artistic research touching upon two systems that only appear different: words and pictures. His work is an investigation of the meaning of representation, the importance of memory, and the layering of vision. Using pictures taken primarily from newspapers, he leads us on a journey filled with references to famous figures and current events. His art practice has a deep sense of social and ethical involvement. Colin himself is an eclectic, and is also Art Director of the Italian daily Corriere della Sera. His work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, and is in private collections, museums, and public institutions in Italy and abroad. He lives and works in Milan and Rome.
