Nancy Jean-Luc

Jean-Luc Nancy is a philosopher, who produces and has produced important reflections in the fields of culture, art and painting. In his book “Les Muses” he defines painting, not as the representation of the world, but as the presentation of the world and existence. He writes poems. He is author of texts on cinema and music, and on the issue of image and the statute of literature. He has written about the works of Caravaggio and On Kawara. He has collaborated with different artists, among whom were Claire Denis, Simon Hantaï, Abbas Kiarostami, Claudio Parmiggiani and Phili Warnell. He has worked frequently with Philippe Lacoue- Labarthes and written books with Jean-Christophe Bailly, Federico Ferrari and Tommaso Tuppini.
