Mariotti Mario

Mariotti Mario

Mario Mariotti spent his childhood in the working-class neighbourhood of Santo Spirito in Florence, in a continuous relationship with the local craft workshops that brought it to life; as a "settled man, from the neighbourhood", as Andrea Rauch defines him in this book, he spent his entire life there. A graphic designer and director, he developed the idea of painting on his hands at the end of the 1960s, and put it into practice in 1980 with the publication of his first book, Animani, which won numerous awards all over the world (including the Art Directors Club of New York, the Bologna Children's Fair Prize and the Cannes Advertising Festival, as well as achieving huge in Japan for its remarkable affinity with Shadow Theatre.).
