De Lucchi Michele

Michele De Lucchi was born in Ferrara in 1951. He studied Architecture in Florence. He was a protagonist of the Cavart, Alchymia and Memphis movements, and he was in charge of Design at Olivetti from 1992 to 2002. He has designed furniture for the leading international design companies including Artemide, Vitra, Unifor, in the field of information technology he has worked with Siemens, Philips and Compaq. He designs and renovates buildings for numerous companies including Enel, Olivetti, Piaggio, Poste Italiane and Telecom Italia. He re-designed exhibition spaces such as the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome and the Design Museum at the Triennale di Milano. He designed the Peace Bridge for the city of Tiblisi. His professional work is always accompanied by personal research on the themes of architecture, design, technology, and craftsmanship. He won the Compasso d'Oro twice: in 1987 with the Tolomeo lamp for Artemide and in 2001 for the Artjet 10 printer, designed for Olivetti.
