La coppia si stabilisce prima a Milano (1962-1970) dove stringe preziose amicizie e collaborazioni con artisti come Bruno Munari e Achille Castiglioni, e poi a Sagno nel Canton Ticino. In questi anni la produzione grafica di Aoi Huber-Kono spazia da disegni per piastrelle, piatti e gioielli a illustrazioni per pubblicità e riviste. Nel 1968 scrive e disegnaIl grande pesce(pubblicato originariamente per Emme Edizioni e ora edito da Corraini), il primo di una serie di opere dedicate all’infanzia. Nel 1976 tiene la sua prima mostra personale alla Galerie Bettina di Zurigo alla quale seguono personali e collettive in Svizzera e all’estero. Dagli anni ’80 si dedica anche alla progettazione di tappeti, collaborando con l’architetto Mario Botta. Nel 2002 dà vita alla Fondazione Max Huber-Kono, per la divulgazione della conoscenza della grafica, del design, della fotografia e della comunicazione visiva.
