In “Lettering”, Giancarlo Iliprandi showed us the typographic fonts; in “Disengagement” he presents his posters and covers very hard to find, created for a non specific committance and full of strong social themes, designed in over forty years of career. From posters about contraception (“Fermati Adamo”, “Basta una pillola”) to those about acoustic (“Basta con i rumori”), environmental and visual pollution (“Stop visual pollution”), to the great series “Date al vostro bambino” and “Anni migliori”. Biting visual messages by Iliprandi are accompanied by unpublished or rare texts: reflections about the need to speak consistently, clearly and honestly to the people for those who communicate with graphic signs. An important book putting in evidence the fighting side of one of the most valued graphics professionals.
