Giancarlo Iliprandi. The graphic designer's eye for photography
Giancarlo Iliprandi. L’occhio del grafico per la fotografia
Giancarlo Iliprandi (1925-2016), one of the leading figures in graphic design in Italy, did more than just work with photographers and photography: his gaze was naturally photographic. This volume shows us the universe of this experimenter and designer through his eyes as a graphic designer, art director and photographer. The ties between graphic design and photography have been an essential issue in the communication project since its foundational period.
Giancarlo Iliprandi. The graphic designer’s eye for photography - a volume promoted by the Archivio del Moderno of the Università della Svizzera italiana with the collaboration of the Politecnico di Milano and the Giancarlo Iliprandi Association - brings together a series of testimonies by the great designer that help to grasp his design approach aimed at graphics for visual communication, always in dialogue with photography, publishing and advertising. The volume is enriched by an extensive iconographic documentation taken from Iliprandi's professional archive, from which emerge the still relevant signs of his page design, where each project is an encounter, incessant experimentation and an unrepeatable vision.
