The Man Who Painted Bottles
This book has been written by members of the Education Department of MAMbo, Bologna’s Modern Art Museum. Many years studying and presenting Giorgio Morandi’s work have provided them with a special understanding of the contemporary appeal of an artist whose international acclaim continues to grow.
Written with children aged 8 – 12 in mind, the book is also designed as an enjoyable teaching aid for schools, or parents wanting to explore Morandi’s world and artistic expression together with their children.
Giorgio Morandi, his world and his work are presented in a form designed to capture the child’s imagination: a short story, brief descriptions of some of his famous still lifes, a virtual visit to the artist’s studio, hands-on practical exercises, and a suggested itinerary for a visit to the places Morandi knew and loved. Together they provide a profound yet accessible insight into the times and work of a major 20th century artist.
This book is also available in Italian.
