L'esprit nouveau. Parigi-Bologna. | Costruzione e ricostruzione di un prototipo dell'architettura moderna
MAMbo, in collaboration with the Fondation Le Corbusier and with the Region Emilia Romagna, has reprinted the volume which recalls the history of the Pavilion Esprit Nouveau, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its construction in Bologna and its reopening to the public after massive restorative interventions. The volume that Mambo Edizioni has reprinted, L'Esprit Nouveau. Paris-Bologna. Costruction and reconstruction of a prototype in modern Architecture, curated by Giuliano Gresleri, was published for the first time in 1979.
Thanks to an anastatic reprint, the book is identical to the original one and contains writings by Filippo Alison, Eugène Claudius-Petit, Giuliano Gresleri, José Oubrerie, Giorgio Trebbi, as weel as Freedom through order by Le Corbusier himself.
Moreover, the volume discloses many images showing Le Corbusier's projects reguarding the construction of the Pavilion in Paris in occasion of the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative Arts in 1925 (the Pavilion has been destroyed afterwards). The book also collects the projects for the reconstruction of the building in Bologna by the architects Gresleri and Ouberie, that took place in 1977.
