Corraini Edizioni, which also houses the Corraini Contemporary Art Gallery, is housed in the former Finzi building at Via Nievo 7/a, in Mantua's historic center. The building, a historic residence for centuries, was extensively renovated in 1809 by Emanuel Sanson Finzi, whose name is evoked in the wrought-iron initials adorning the top of the staircase banister.
The ground floor houses the Gallery, which hosts temporary exhibitions, and an exhibition space that houses, in addition to books from the Corraini catalogue, a selection of design objects, graphics, and artists' books.
The rooms are decorated with frescoes by Giuseppe Canella (1788-1847), a Veronese painter who was present in Mantua between 1811 and 1815, featuring countryside landscapes in classicist frames made up of fake columns and curtains raised like stage curtains.
