Very different in content and presentation, the two shows were held almost consecutively during 2019, the first at Kasseler Kunstverein and the other at OGR Turin.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eIn \u003cem\u003eTacet\u003c\/em\u003e a series of recent works by the artist were exhibited - such as \u003cstrong\u003escores, objects, and ephemera\u003c\/strong\u003e - and for the entire duration of the exhibition \u003cstrong\u003ea single performer called \"the archivist\" recorded his own reflections and those of the visitors\u003c\/strong\u003e, interacting with the public according to Meyers' indications and re-enacting some of the performances. As the title suggests, and quite unusually for Ari Benjamin Meyers, the exhibition took place mostly in silence.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eDuring the six weeks of \u003cem\u003eIn Concert\u003c\/em\u003e a group of eight performers, within a specially designed scenography, followed \u003cstrong\u003ea meta-composition by Meyers, wherein seven of his performance works were intertwined with each other\u003c\/strong\u003e. They appeared throughout the exhibition in various configurations and reinterpretations, constantly evolving over the course of the show.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eThe book is born from the documentation of these two exhibitions, each conceived in a very different way. \u003cem\u003eTacet\u003c\/em\u003e is told through a long essay written in the form of a diary by \u003cstrong\u003eJörn Schafaff\u003c\/strong\u003e - the archivist - and it may well be the first report of an exhibition made by an (embedded) art theorist who witnessed directly every moment the show was open. \u003cem\u003eIn Concert\u003c\/em\u003e, on the other hand, is fleetingly told through \u003cstrong\u003eAndrea Rossetti\u003c\/strong\u003e's photographs, taken at OGR over three days. The volume is enriched by essays by \u003cstrong\u003eNicola Ricciardi\u003c\/strong\u003e, by the curators \u003cstrong\u003eJudith Waldmann\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eValentina Lacinio\u003c\/strong\u003e, and by the neuroscientist \u003cstrong\u003eKatja Naie\u003c\/strong\u003e.
