Spiriti | Eight photographers recount Giancarlo De Carlo in Urbino

Otto fotografi raccontano Giancarlo De Carlo a Urbino

€35.00

Eight internationally renowned photographers, ISIA professors, are called upon to describe Giancarlo De Carlo's work in Urbino, accepting the architect's invitation to assess the final phase, the final result: in L’architettura della partecipazione De Carlo condemns the fact that the representation of architecture often does not include the people who inhabit it, whereas, for him, a place is a space "experienced, consumed, perennially transformed by human presence".

A collection of images, then, that narrate De Carlo's work in Urbino in its current form. Paola Binante, Luca Capuano, Mario Cresci, Paola De Pietri, Jason Fulford, Stefano Graziani, Armin Linke and Giovanna Silva explore and recount the essence of this lesson through their photography. Their multiple perspectives are combined with accounts of the performance carried out by graphic designer Patrick Lacey and artist Ben Cain with the ISIA students and the narratives developed by the students of the Università Iuav di Venezia together with Armin Linke from archive photographic material.

The book, edited by Jonathan Pierini and Marco Pierini with Leonardo Sonnoli and Irene Bacchi, is published to coincide with the exhibition of the same name at the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche at the Palazzo Ducale in Urbino and includes contributions by Gianni Filindeu, Luigi Gallo, Sara Marini, Jonathan Pierini, Marco Pierini, Roberta Valtorta and Mirko Zardini. The in-depth texts are accompanied by images of the exhibition and works by the individual photographers, who each present their own work.
