Along with eight other books, The birthday present is part of the historic Books of '45 series, which Bruno Munari dedicated himself to after the birth of his son Alberto. Books made of die cuts, holes and large, elegant designs that invite a game of discovery and research, leaving everyone hanging on the magic that paper can do.

This series – a timeless classic that in 2025 will celebrate its 80th anniversary since the first edition – has maintained its originality and aims to spark children’s curiosity, showing them that there is always something more inside of something, encouraging them to explore with wonder.
