Vestimenti

Much of Sissi's production over the years has focused on the creation of clothes, some of which are wearable, made from a wide variety of materials, which the artist has always considered and presented as real sculptures, even within large installations or performances, as in her first fundamental work Daniela ha perso il treno (1999). This large body of work covers twenty years of her career and deepens one of the key elements of her poetics. The exhibition Vestimenti gathers a wide selection of the artist's dress-sculptures and is one of the main projects at ART CITY Bologna 2020 during Arte Fiera which will take place from 21 January to 19 April 2020, at Palazzo Bentivoglio, via del Borgo di San Pietro 1 in Bologna. The book of the same name is edited by Antonio Grulli, with a text by Mariuccia Casadio and a wide selection of images of the set-up and development of the exhibition.
