XXII ADI Compasso d'Oro Award

XXII Premio Compasso d'Oro ADI

€28.00

The catalogue of the 22nd ADI Compasso d’Oro Award, selected by local committees of the Osservatorio Permanente del Design ADI, includes the best of Italian design over the past three years. To mark the 150th anniversary of the Unity of Italy and the 50th anniversary of the ADI, the Prize was awarded this year at the end of the Unicità d’Italia event in Rome. The occasion celebrated the importance of the technological evolution of Italian design and its significance as an indicator of national customs.

The ADI Compasso d’Oro Award is the most complete recognition of excellence. The first section of the catalogue is dedicated to the 19 Compasso d’Oro award winners, who were judged on the quality represented by each specific field of design. In some cases the prizes were awarded for the focus on the user as the fundamental starting point from which the entire process began, in others it was their attention to eco-sustainability, and in others, technical experimentation and use of new materials. In addition to the traditional awards, the second part includes 77 special mentions, goods considered excellent in a range of categories, from home design to theoretical research, history and criticism of design, visual design, design of materials and other categories. Together these become part of the Compasso d’Oro ADI historic collection. The final section is dedicated to the 6 Compasso d’Oro Career Awards and include those conferred on Enzo Mari and Giancarlo Iliprandi, 3 international awards, and, this year, a special prize awarded to the Slow Food association.
