Leonardo Fretta began his artistic career as an engraver, before dedicating himself to painting from the 80s onwards. He has been exhibited in important galleries and museums in Italy and abroad. He lives and works in Milan. His work, imbued with ancient Mediterranean culture and influenced by classicism, explores spiritual places where slow and silent processes of symbolic transformation flow, translating into indefinable biomorphic forms. In the intensive minuteness of his paintings, we find a desire for reality and an attempt to answer ancient questions that come from memory.
