Bartolomei Gabriella

Gabriella Bartolomei studied singing at the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini in Florence with the Maestro Marino Cremesini, dramatic art with Nella Bonora and Tatiana Pavlova. She developed the fusion between the language of music, theatre, and gesture, in the joint work carried out in theatre with the director Pier'alli, deepening her studies with Renzo Frangipane. Her vocal and interpretative expressions, which have made her world famous, are continuously refined by the study of the word in its extended landscape including the appearance of sound. In this sense, and as she herself defines them, her interventions produce Vocal Scriptures in relation to the lyrics which she reduces to their essence and whose hidden musicality she rediscovers and updates. This research has allowed her to work with some of the greatest contemporary composers such as Sylvano Bussotti, Salvatore Sciarrino, Giorgio Battistelli and Daniele Lombardi, and to have a repertoire of considerable depth and originality. On the fringes of her theatrical activity, she has held seminars in various circles including DAMS in Bologna, the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan and the Scuola di Musica in Fiesole on the creative question at the origin of the voice.
