Albano Morandi

Images Stolen by Heart

Immagini rubate a memoria

€16.00

“All of Albano Morandi's work rests on the 'relationship'. And there is no relationship that manifests itself in an absolute present, but only between a pre-existing past, a present that intercepts it and a future that is anticipated."
(Giovanna dalla Chiesa)

Where does artistic inspiration come from? In Immagini rubate a memoria Albano Morandi investigates this question, putting into play the conception that the work is created from a pre-existing iconography in the artist's memory.

The artist's interventions are therefore stratified, an overlapping of memories for the creation of new symbologies and icons that talk with the present and the past, temporal bridges and openings to the public and to the artist himself.
The book, published to mark the opening of the exhibition of the same name held from 2 March to 20 April 2017 at the Galleria Milano, is accompanied by critical texts by Nicoletta Boschiero, Giovanna dalla Chiesa and Elena Di Raddo that reflect on Morandi's work and complete the images of the pieces.
