Marisa Albanese

Sentieri di mani

€15.00

Sentieri di mani is dedicated to the graphic design aspect of Marisa Albanese’s research and it forms part of the exhibition that will take place at the Istituto Centrale per la Grafica, at Palazzo Poli in Rome. The artist’s work fits within the museum’s established Grafica femminile singolare series, which seeks to give space to contemporary graphic art by female artists

The book features images taken from the two installations in the exhibition, the drawing machines. Traces and drawings in ink appear on a roll, composing a sort of unraveled papyrus, a story of marks. Or even inscriptions composed of different materials such as metal or salt, forming a poetic graphic alphabet, reading constellations.

“It’s a way of understanding how to create graphics, as a presumed form of automatic writing, which is contrarily the result of the artist’s creative gaze, which follows, controls and recreates randomness.”
