Giulio Paolini. Lo spazio, 1967

The fourth volume in the series “In collezione,” curated by the Fondazione Giulio e Anna Paolini, presents an interpretation of the work Lo spazio (1967), mainly based on the relationship between the work, the space, and the viewer. In addition to tracing the genesis of this theme in Paolini’s previous output, Riccardo Cuomo especially focuses on the intricate juxtaposition between the conceptual and physical-perceptive elements that distinguish the work analysed. The author also compares the tautological and linguistic component of Lo spazio with several contemporary works by Luciano Fabro and Alighiero Boetti, as well as with other works by Paolini.

As in the previous books dedicated to Giulio Paolini, Giulio Paolini. Lo spazio, 1967 is enhaced by an original design (a concertina folded insert) created by Giulio Paolinii especially for the occasion.
