The squirrel project

Like squirrels hiding their nuts for the winter (which, if forgotten, can help new trees to grow), Mauro Bellei hides his “nuts” in his projects: little seeds that even many years later continue to keep those projects alive.

The squirrel project is a collection of Mauro Bellei’s architectural designs, interiors and theatre designs. Bellei, a rare example in the creative world, has an approach to design that embraces different fields: his work for industry and interior design intermingle here with the world of publishing. His creations aim to get people together and offer the chance for new friendships and alliances, providing alternative options to their users. Bellei’s projects hide secrets, some of which are revealed in this book.

Here in this volume, we are given the chance to sample Mauro Bellei’s wide-ranging exploits – his sharing of the ideas, doubts and indecisions that lie behind their creation. And also the opportunity to see some of his works in a new light.
