Illustrators annual 2017 [ENG]

The Illustrators’ Exhibition at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair is one of the most important international events in the world of illustration. For more than 50 years, the Exhibition has featured works by the greatest names in children’s publishing over the past half century.

The Illustrators Annual 2017 unites projects by the 75 artists selected from the 16,000 boards created by 3,200 illustrators from around the globe.

With a cover illustration drawn by Rotraut Susanne Berner, winner of the International Hans Christian Andersen Award, in addition to the selected works the volume also features contributions by the five jury members: illustrators Jean-François Martin, Daniela Stamatiadi and Steven Guarnaccia, and editors Harriet Birkinshaw and Arianna Squilloni. The edition is completed by the input of two prestigious figures in illustration and editorial graphics: Katsumi Komagata, one of the most celebrated authors of children’s books in the world, and Italo Lupi, a great master of Italian graphic design.
