Throughout his artistic career, Marcello Morandini has applied the precision of his concepts to the various fields of the visual image, painting, sculpture, design, architecture and even fabric design.

Strongly influenced by Programmed Art and Concrete Art, and due to his extensive experience as an artist working with the world of industry, Morandini has based his own studies on the aesthetic laws of rigorous and geometric rationalism.

Complied by the artist himself, this book offers a selection of designs by Marcello Morandini covering the various fields he has embraced during the course of his career. From the very conception of a work of art though to his urban sculptures, his personal methodology is easily identifiable in the coordinated, essential and elegantly compact shapes that characterize each object like a mark of beauty in the landscape and in their overall visual perception: “open” works of art that serve as knowledge, utopia and identity of their own human and urban context.

This book is published on the occasion of the personal exhibition “Art achitectures”, on display in 2010 at the Casa del Mantegna in Mantua. It includes texts by François Burkhardt, Enrico Crispolti, Marcello Morandini.
