Two further volumes dedicated to the research project Tea & Coffee Towers, open a new chapter of the Design Interviews. Two new titles offer first-hand accounts of the experiences and methods of some of architecture and design’s big names.
The two books gather interviews of a group of international architects (William Alsop, Wiel Arets, MVRDV, Gary Chang, UN STUDIO, Greg Lynn Form, Thom Mayne Morphosis, Tom Kovac, Deszö Ekler, Toyo Ito, Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas, Dominique Perrault, Future Systems, Juan Navarro Baldeweg, Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, David Chipperfield, Alessandro Mendini) who were asked to design a coffee and tea set as if it were a micro- architecture.
This time too, each book is associated with a dvd: a video interview exclusively realized by the Museo Alessi (director and author: Anna Pitscheider) that represents a unique source of considerations and experiences about making design. Its transcription is curated to preserve the spontaneity and immediacy of the conversation, and appears in the book along with the most significant stills of the video, photographs from the archive of the Museo Alessi and preliminary sketches of several projects.
The Design Interviews are a project relized by Corraini Edizioni in collaboration with Museo Alessi.
