Tullio Pericoli’s interest in landscape has evolved particularly in his most recent works, carried out between 2006 and 2009 and collected in this book.

His landscapes are made up of a series of single “fragments” that together bring to life a collective account of a land, an atmosphere, a memory. The landscape seems to contain within it the artist himself who, while observing it, transfers his colours, sounds and smells as well as his own sense of time.

The jagged surfaces of Tullio Pericoli’s works portray fields, lands, skies, winds and hills. His strokes, thickness of paint and patches of colour are reminiscent of cultivated land, clusters and thickening vegetation, suggestive of the slow changes the land hides spontaneously within itself.

L’infinito paesaggio is a series of variations that transforms the surface of the terrain into an abstract tale, a detail for a possible story and a new chapter in the privileged relationship that painting has always enjoyed with the landscape.

Curated by Lucia Borromeo Dina, this book includes texts by Ilaria Borletti Buitoni, Claudio Cerritelli, Giulia Maria Mozzoni Crespi, Aldo Poli and an interview to Tullio Pericoli by Lucia Borromeo Dina.
