Founded in 1998 by Marta Caffarelli and Viola Naj-Oleari, Atelier VM is a Milanese brand that has always challenged the canons of jewelry. With a minimalist and refined aesthetic, it creates poetic jewelry capable of gradually merging with the figure and personality of the wearer; distillations of emotions that, like poetry, do not add anything superfluous to the world but tell about it, in gleams of light.
Viola, graduate at the IED in Milan in industrial design course, and Marta, trained in Paris at the laboratory of contemporary jeweler Agathe St. Girons, have been working together since 1997.
It is life itself, with its circumstances, randomness, digressions, memories, travels, others, that inspires the designs of the two young creators. In this sensitive and biographical approach, the two artists offer jewelry that always tells a story and sometimes hides secrets.
The jewelry they produce evokes a soul suspended between myth and legend, at the same time created on the basis of an extremely modern conception that twists and enriches the classic canons of jewelry.
Behind each creation is a title, a thought.
Hard stones meet with plastic materials, gold with glass and paper, filigrees with ebony. The shapes are sober and delicate, fun and visionary, slim and flashy but always traceable to an idea of lightness and poetry; like wearing a fairy tale or a Hollywood legend.
Marta and Viola have given their youthful friendship the spirit of a journey of exploration, wandering, surreal and imaginative. A twenty-five-year all-female story; an often counter-trendy, enterprising and innovative way of doing business of those who over time have managed to maintain the consistency of a deep and light soul together.
