Cassina Adele
Adele Cassina was born in Meda to Cesare Cassina and Thea Rho. She was just over four years old when her mother died. This marked the beginning of an intense but silent relationship with her father, a Brianza woodworker by tradition and then a furniture design entrepreneur with his brother Umberto. Adele grew up in the heart of the Cassina company. She married Rodrigo Rodriquez at the age of twenty-four, with whom she would have four children, and who would enter the family business. As a daughter, wife and mother in the decades that transformed Italy, Adele took an active role in her own life with a progressively growing awareness and strength. Having reached a certain maturity with greying hair, she founded a furnishing company that bears her own name. At the age of eighty, she leaves behind her armchairs and tables and describes herself and the beginnings of Italian design with a fresh outlook.
