A critic and curator, Chiara Bertola was born in Turin in 1961 and lives and works in Venice. She has been responsible for the contemporary art programme "Conservare il futuro" at the Fondazione Querini Stampalia in Venice since 2001. She was artistic director of Hangar Bicocca in Milan from 2009 to 2012. In 2016 she created the Fondo Luigi Ghirri at the Fondazione Querini Stampalia entirely dedicated to photography and its aspects with the creation of conferences, research and exhibition activities starting from Ghirri's work. In 2014 she was among the founding members of the "Venice Gardens Foundation" in Venice.
