Shedding Light
"Shedding light, or learning from the greats of yesterday and today that the intelligence, inventions and emotions associated with this fundamental ingredient of our lives – namely light – can be many, and of great variety: iridescent and magical, erudite and disarming, gentle and impalpable, amazing and effective, elusive and enigmatic, functional and obvious, brilliant and visionary, imperceptible and sophisticated, impressive and powerful, wry and paradoxical, symbolic and poetic, and much more."
The volume Fare Luce (Shedding Light), edited by Beppe Finessi and prepared in cooperation with Foscarini, is a collection of projects that speaks of light thanks to high quality critical contributions, rich iconographic documentation and exclusive artistic contributions.
Based on the “Inventario” editorial style, Shedding Light is a book that tells a transversal story, in which different creative disciplines present works by the best international authors who successfully demonstrate the unique qualities of light. Architecture, design, art, graphics, photography use light as a tool, as experimentation, as reflection and as emotion in over 300 works. The result is a valuable publishing project, with critical contributions by Marco Belpoliti, Paolo Bocchi, Manlio Brusatin, Michele Calzavara, Francesco M. Cataluccio, Francesco Garutti, Manolo De Giorgi, Giacinto Di Pietrantonio, Chiara Fauda Pichet, Beppe Finessi, Damiano Gullì, George Hardie, Corrado Levi, Matteo Pirola, Michele Porcu, Marco Rainò, Marco Romanelli, Stefano Salis, Martina Sanzarello, Elisa Testori, Roberta Valtorta and Marco Viganò.
