Ignacio Medina is a food journalist. In Spain, he worked as a restaurant critic in newspapers such as El País, El Mundo, El Sol and general and specialized information magazines, such as Madrid’s Leisure Guide. In 2011 he moved to Lima and worked as a critic in El Comercio (Peru), a columnist in El País América and is currently a columnist in the newspaper Primicias, in Ecuador. Responsible for the reactivation of 7Cannibales since January 2022, he currently works as editor of the Latin American edition.

Twice National Gastronomy Award (1987 and 2009), Gambero Rosso Award for the best international columnist of the year 2019), Gourmand World Cookbook Award, Pau Alboroná Award for the best journalistic work of the year 2020, awarded in San Sebastián Gastronomika. He has published 86 gastronomy books, among them Los Ritos del lujo, Guía de comer en la carretera, Edén.pe, Casa Cacao, Raíces, Mamá yo no quiero ser Gastón. His last book is Che sapore ha? written in collaboration with Micaela Chirif and illustrated by Andrea Antinori.
